REVIEW
Winter is approaching. Bear is preparing for the long, cold season. The Tukoni, magical forest animals, are ready to put the dormouse, hedgehog, marmot, and even the bison to sleep... ehmmm... No! Not the bison! "He has never slept through the winter and can't even imagine how the other animals do it."
However, Bison does not like winter, so, inspired by the idea of a prolonged rest, he asks the magical Tukoni to put him to sleep. Since this is not possible, Bison decides to find himself a den and attempt the impossible on his own.
Funny, tender, and amusing, the new album from Jaca Book poetically and fantastically tells the story of animals in winter through the magnificent illustrations of Oksana Bula. The delicately colored pages are enveloping and poetic, rich in detail and non-verbal narration. The pages alternate between comic-style and classic storytelling, developing a chromatic communication that is nothing short of perfect, ideal, and functional for the narrative.
In short, a book to read and reread.
